I have no doubt that this will be one of the longest post titles I’ll ever write, and that’s weird so early on in this blog’s life. However, I bet I have an even longer one someday. With stupid whining of that sort out of the way, I’ll move on to other stupid whining about nerdy stuff. If you’ve known me more than 3 minutes or read even one of my posts on this website, there’s one thing you can easily figure out about me: I love bitchin’!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And here you are, hanging on my every word as I talk about Kotamon: My Sis Found A Super-Rare Card In her Cereal Box So I Became A Garbage Man To Find The Entire Collection And Earn $1,000,000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, I know there’s an accent mark above the a. Whatever, I don’t care. I’m far too lazy to either copy and paste it or look it up in the character map, so you get what you get. I’m not trying to win any contests for absolute accuracy or anything, this is just my stupid nerd blog. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This game is about being a cat dude whose cat sister found a super rare card as a prize in cereal and you, as the cat-dude, have made the decision to go dig through tons of garbage to complete the set and earn $1,000,000.00. Are we clear on that? We’re clear on that. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just what I want in a game, CHORES!!! No, really, I mean it. This trend that’s been going on for the past few years of making chores fun by using them as a video game idea is genius. Not only is it something everybody can relate to most of the time, it’s also a good preparation for younger generations of people who think they’re above doing any sort of work to feed themselves. They’re so fun too. I spent 70 hours playing Powerwash Simulator and as stupid as that sounds, I don’t regret a second of it. That game was baller. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So why would this be any different? Well, it’s not. It’s actually really fun – for awhile. Now I realize the only thing released publicly to play right now is the demo, so I’m hoping there is a lot more content that doesn’t just amount to different pieces of garbage and like 20 cards, or this is going to be a very long, tedious fart of a game. That doesn’t mean the core concept isn’t fun, because it is! But if the developers don’t have a lot more to do in mind – like, say, selling multiples of cards or being able to play the card game itself, perhaps even having to play the card game to get the whole set together – then it’s going to be pointless to wait for anything other than the demo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That being said, it is extremely pleasant to look at. Weird distortion aside because I have a gigantic monitor and there’s no adjustable resolution option in the game, (none that works, anyway<\/strong>) and I’m far, far too lazy to fix the aspect ratio on the screenshots I’ve posted, it’s got a nice art style. However, I did not expect the cards to be so…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

…whatever the hell this is. Classy, I guess. Yeah, classy. About as classy as that girl you knew in high school whose parents signed for her to get her first tattoo and she got that giant caricature of Tweety Bird peeing on Donald Duck with the words “Monster Truck Princess,” tattooed right above her Cesarean scar then started wearing crop tops to show everyone how cute it was. To be clear, wearing crop tops isn’t the problem, it’s everything about that sentence, but I know how people are and someone is going to think I’m being literal here. I never actually knew anyone who did this. Heck, I didn’t even go to high school. That says more about you <\/em><\/strong>then it does about me<\/em><\/strong>, though. I guess. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The other cool part is that if you run out of energy, you can drink beer. Heck yeah, beer! The best performance-enhancing vitamin you can take to increase your efficiency at picking up garbage at what is being called a dump, but is really some redneck’s back yard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I know it may seem like I’m making fun of this game – and I suppose I am, but not in a mean spirited way. I actually enjoyed my time with the demo. In fact, I enjoyed about 3 hours of my life with it. That’s 3 full hours of my life that I will never get back, and I don’t feel like it was wasted because I cleaned up an entire back yard twice<\/strong><\/em>! Want to guess how many times I’ve cleaned up my back yard in the last 3 years<\/em><\/strong>!? I’ll save you the trouble – none, it’s no times. However, this game makes it seem fun, so I will likely peel my fat ass off of the desk chair here and get to work. Hopefully I’ll find another slime girl card, or a card that has a giant caricature of Tweety Bird peeing on Donald Duck with the words, “Monster Truck Princess,” above it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I give this game a beer’n’slimegirls\/10<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seriously, give it a shot, it’s fun. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
